As with many definitions, the word resonate is defined by a variation of the word itself. Here is what one dictionary says:
Resonate means to be in resonance. In physics, resonance means the reinforced vibration of a body caused by the vibration of another body.
If you feel energized or reinforced when you are close to someone, you resonate with them.
In the language of music, this could be called good vibrations.
