Dating Advice: Where to go on a budget!

By Coach Colleen | February 19, 2009

Hi There,

Are you one of the millions cutting back on spending?

So, if you are, where can you go on a nice, fun date and not spend a ton of money?

Here are some cool ideas…

1. This one is age-dependent. If you are in your late 40’s or beyond, go get a coffee and sit in the library lobby of a University. Or if you’re younger, go to where you might see older people hang out - bingo at a senior center is popular in my neighborhood.

2. Many communities have free art walks during the week.

3. Use a two for one dinner coupon. Yes, use it. Not on the first date, but after that yes. One way to introduce it is to convert the savings to an hourly wage. If you save $18 on one dinner and you are there for an hour for easy math, then between the two of you you each earned $9 an hour for having dinner.

4. Sightseeing on public transportation.

5. Go to a coffee shop that has a fireplace and cushy chairs. Order just one latte and refill it with drip coffee.

I’d love to hear your ideas for inexpensive, fun date.
