Happy Valentine’s Day - Real Love
By Coach Colleen | February 14, 2008
Hi,
Stick with me on this. Let’s roll play a hypothetical situation.
It’s Valentine’s Day and you don’t have that one special love yet. What I would like each of us to do is to practice showering Valentine’s Day cards and gift on your true love. So, how you do that is to go to the card shop, find the card you want to give your true love, buy it, write a nice note in it, seal it up, address it to “My True Love” and place it on the most prominent shelf in your refrigerator.
Then, forget about it and be surprised when you open your refrigerator and find a lovely Valentine waiting for you.
It’s always polite to thank the person who gave you this wonderful card; I’d even suggest giving them a big hug. So here is self-hugging instructions for right-handed people (you left-handers - know how to translate your actions):
1. Stand or sit up.
2. Securely grab your left shoulder using your right hand
3. Securely grab your right shoulder using your left hand
… Your left arm will be crossed on top of your right arm…
… If this is uncomfortable, please switch which arm is on top…
4. Gently and lovingly begin your hugging by squeezing and releasing pressure on your shoulders.
5. Smile and say thank you to your first true love - yourself
6. Optional additional loving activity. As you are squeezing and releasing pressure, you may:
- rock your shoulders right and left
- shrug your shoulders up around your ears further cradling yourself.
Remember, you are in fact your first true love. Take advantage of this wonderful day to say “I cherish you” to yourself.

Colleen–this hug is a great idea! So much hype about this day, but, really, it’s just another day to love the irresistable you! Thanks for the sweet reminder. Mary
