Imagine, accept, expect and … find true love

Good day,
I asked and I have not yet got what I asked for.
Do I give up? Get mad? Dispair? Say, poor me! Or, see it really doesn’t work!
I’ve done all of those and have learned over the years that none of those options are beneficial.
Blaming and presenting myself as a victim has, I will admit, got me some sympathy.
What work?
Well, what works for me is also the basis of my Total True Love system - it is Imagineering.
It’s about seeing what you want to happen and sticking with the vision. Here is a story about sticking with the vision that is about getting the seemingly impossible.
I rented an office building for 10 years. From before I signed the original lease, I was asking the owner to sell me the property. He said no, and no, and no, and no and, guess what no!
Did that stop me? NO! In my 9th year of leasing the building, he came to me and said YES I’ll sell you the building. He was asking for $1.7 million dollars which was as good as a NO to me. I still wanted the building and decided not to give up.
I visualized my self signing the purchase-sale agreement not for his price but for mine.
Then I had to determine what my price was. I did a breakeven analysis and presented the breakeven number to the ower as the price I could pay. That price was over 1/2 million less than his asking price - a full $600,000 less than his asking price.
Guess what he said?
NO!
Did I give up? NO!
I imagined myself signing that buy-sell agreement. I had a photo of the building on my wall. I love that building.
My first incounter with the building was the year before I first leased it. I fell in love with it the first time I saw a for lease sign. I called but it was already taken. I kept thinking and dreaming about that building. One year later, I saw the for lease sign go up. I puller over on the side of the street and called that very moment. I moved in 1 month later.
I imagineered myself and my business in that space. I imagineered myself sitting at my desk watching the ships anchored in Elliott Bay with the Seattle waterfront in the background.
Several months after my sound-business offer from my position, the owner called and said …
YES!
I have owned that property for several years now. I still love it.
I so respect the previous owner for what he accomplished in his life and what he taught me about decision making. And, I am now in a new Imagineering stage.
Eventually, I will sell that property to a developer. The owners wish for me is that I make as much on the property as he did. He sold it for three times what he paid for it. I am imagineering another buy-sell agreement for $3.3 million. My delight would be that one of my tenants, who are wonderful women, purchase it. Maybe they will do a co-op and buy it.
Imagineering is the key to what’s next. Imagineering is the key to creating a life that you want to live.
At times, imagineering is hard because it is easier to go back to what we know - our comfort zone.
But, imagineering is about claiming what is possible for you. It is about creating miracles in your life.
My owning that building (The WestBay Professional Building) is a miracle that took me 11 years to achieve. It was worth waiting.
Miracles happen everyday. Some take 11 years, some a lifetime, some a few moments - the teenager who cleans their room just because. Miracles can happen to you - you do not have to be a Saint. You just have to
imagine, accept, expect and … you will find a miracle in your life.
