Light… Inspiration… Work… What’s going on - really?

Hi all,
I’m answering the phones for a friend who is on a trip. I listened and heard two urgent pleas from a tenant whose electricity was partially off in her apartment. She uses one bedroom as her office and one as her bedroom. Her message was funny… the lights would come on in some rooms and not in others… and she needed to work at night. Now, I realize that having lights is important. But here’s what I wonder about. She said she had lights in her office. I didn’t understand why the frantic pleas for electricity to work when the lights worked in her office.
The first call was followed by a second more urgent plea followed by a third call from the person across the hall. When I heard who this was I braced myself for a supporting tirade. What I got was music to my ears, the neighbor realized that this tenant may have overloaded a circuit and blown a breaker.
I’ve heard nothing since, so I’m assuming that is the case. This is an example of identifying so much with a problem, a “situation” to be solved, that the tenant who had done this to themselves was unable to think.
Now, maybe it is the pressure of work. Maybe they didn’t know about circuits and overloading them and it’s literally the flip of a switch to restore light.
For me it’s often that I am doing my life at such a fast pace that I can’t see past the darkness. The darkness becomes the show stopper. Maybe it is my suconscious attempt to get myself to slow down!
Where might you have darkness in your life? Where is the circuit breaker? Can you flip the switch?
By the way, if you have a little darkness in your life, just notice it. Do not condemn yourself for having it. We all have darkness at one time or another. It’s just part of the cycle of life.
