Loneliness is different than being alone

By Coach Colleen | July 19, 2006

I was just reading about a woman who was so lonely that she kept looking at her email and being discouraged because there was no new mail from men she had recently met. She talked about how her stomach ached with loneliness.

I know that feeling. I used to have it. Until I discovered how to live my life in the present moment, not worried about what I didn’t have, wasn’t getting enough of, or wasn’t good enough for, I too was lonely and discouraged.

Then I discovered what I really wanted my life to be like. I just started being that in the present moment. It was wonderful. I enjoyed myself and didn’t give much thought to being alone because I was no more lonely.

Try being what you want to be in every moment. If you want to learn more about living in the present moment, read the book called The Present.
