Never too much chocolate!

By Coach Colleen | January 31, 2008

Hi,

I received a Google Alert that there was something about Colleen Brady in Google so I took a look. Well, I’ve been confused with a few other Colleen Brady’s in my life (there are several of us in Seattle) but today I learned I’m a lost member of “Days of Our Lives.”

Shirley Jones (I remember her from the Partridge Family) is playing the part of a 90-year-old woman named Colleen Brady who faked her own death, left the nun’s habit on the top of the cliff, and went off to live a full and rich life. Evidently her character is from some time back because the mother of the interviewer was wanting to know the inside scoop.

It will be fun to see how popular this “Colleen Brady” becomes over the next year. I’m going to have to watch a few episodes myself just to be in the know.

Anyway, this is all leading up to a Valentine’s Day gift that Shirley Jones received a few years back from her husband and true love of 30 years. Congratulations, Shirley for finding that true and lasting love in an industry that is not know for longevity.

Well, like many of us Shirley loves chocolate, so about 5 years ago her sweet, adoring, loving husband wanted to the love of his life the best present ever. (Just so you know, I’m adding my own superlatives here, but I’m telling the story and I am imagining it to be quite true.) For 25 years, he had probably been giving her the normal kinds of Valentine’s Day presents - flowers, diamonds, a box of the world’s best chocolate - probably not Herseys, but I’m sure a few Hershey’s kisses for effect.

This year he decided to go all out and give her what she really loves - chocolate. In fact, he bought an entire chocolate store for his precious Shirley.

What a guy!

Let’s just fantasize a moment, what present would you give your lover of 25 years? I love envisioning that because I’m going on 9 years this May and thinking of 25 years together makes my heart smile.

What makes your heart smile?
