Vote… and find true love

Hi there,
Vote and find true love.
Sound a little far fetched?
Yes… and no.
Today is election day in the United States. It is suprising what the conscious act of voting has in common with finding your soul mate.
When you vote, you are practicing a trait that is essential to finding your one and only.
You are doing several things.
1st is preparation. Here you learn about the candidates and their views.
2nd is a sifting process. In the US we have a long election process. A lot of material is presented by, for, and against each canidate and their views. Most of the time we think this sifting process is about the candidates, but it is really more about the voter.
The voter has to figure out what their position on the issues are before, he or she can consciously vote. It’s like discovering your irresistible definition of life in terms of the issues. It is, if you take the time an incredible journey into yourself and what you believe and want for your life.
3rd is taking action by actually voting - chosing who best respresents you as a citizen.
This process is like finding true love because fyou have to discover what you want in Mr. Right before you can consciously pick Mr. Right. You can do what everyone else has done for years — trial and error — More appropriately called ‘trial and divorce.’
Voting and finding true love both start with knowing yourself and what you want for your life.
Now one last thing about voting — someone does not win.
Accepting and pulling together after a long and hard competition is what happens next. For me, I have a clear preference but will gladly and graciously support whomever wins because that choice represents what the body of the US people want.
