Waiting for True Love, Waiting for Answered Prayers… How Long Will It Take?

By Coach Colleen | June 13, 2008

Hello again,

Wow, what a question. When I don’t get what I want when I want it, I can jump right to - “what’s wrong with me, God doesn’t love me, I’m not good enough.”

From there I can go directly to “So what’s the use!”

Why keep believing? Why keep praying? Because…

YOU are worth your attention!
YOU are worth your self-love
YOU are worth your own self-care
YOU are worth your own patience
YOU are worth happiness
YOU are worth joy
YOU are worth peace
YOU are worth prosperity
YOU are worth true love

If you have trouble believing any of this, then borrow my faith.

If it makes it easier to rent my faith, then send me a check. Make it out for any amount that you feel you are worth. Send the check to me at 8425 Tillicum RD SW, Suite 210, Seattle, WA 98136.

I will cash it because you are worth it.

Now, back to timing. If you said a prayer yesterday and you don’t have that new job or that new love today, 24 hours later, you might be inclined to give up. Don’t do that quite yet. Give the Universe a chance.

If you are feeling down, dejected, or have more self doubts, repeat the interim releasing step. I’ll repeat it here for you because, it is so important to remember…

“I, right here and right now, release all thoughts of unworthiness, not-enoughness, un-deservingness. I am worthy of happiness and joy. I am enough just as I am. I deserve a joyful and happy life because I am me. I am part of that Universal Goodness from which all things originate, the God-Source of all life. I claim this because it is true. I release all negative thoughts, all should’s and should not’s as I step into the beauty and strength of myself.”

Speaking the words out loud rather than just reading them is more powerful. Writing them down long-hand rather than typing is extremely powerful to me.

Keep doing this releasing and re-praying until you experience the feeling you want - peace, joy, freedom, perfect health, abundance, etc.

Now here’s a secret.

Sometimes what you want doesn’t come in the exact form you asked for. For example, you want joy and happiness in your life with a tall dark handsome man. Then you meet a guy who is balding and only a little taller than you. But you fall in love and are the happiest you have ever been in your life. Hmmm. You got the feeling, but not the other specifics. That’s why we add the experience you want to feel to the prayer and not just dwell on the specifics. Specifics limit us to what we think we want. The Universe is vast. Expressing qualities when we pray allows us to tap into that vastness.

And, I acknowledge waiting is not the easiest.
