What’s important to you?

By Coach Colleen | June 21, 2007

Hi all,

This morning I tried to pull up this blog to write today’s entry and the screen said “no entries present.” I went from month to month still “no entries present.” I was horrified.

I learned that I really care about what I write for you in this blog. I did freak out a tiny bit when I thought I had lost a years plus worth of work. Okay, I freaked out a lot.

The second lesson that I experienced today was that I had to surrender and trust in those that developed and maintained this website. There was nothing, nothing, nothing that I could do about anything except what I was focusing my attention on. So I decided to change the focus of my thinking from panic to trust in the process.

It sure beat panicing for any length of time. Five minutes of panic is too long for me. It took some doing, but I released my attachment to the outcome.

I went to lunch, had a good time with an old friend and came home to find the database was back online and my data WAS there. Thanks to the powers that be for that.

Surrendering control (of which I had none) and trusting the process was a great exercise for me. I ask others to do it, so I better practice what I speak of.

Thanks for listening,
Coach Colleen
