Rose: Image of Love

By Coach Colleen | June 15, 2007

Hey there,

Here’s another one of my doodles. It is always amazing what notes comes out of all the seminars I attend.

Why do we equate a rose with love? Roses are red… or black and white.
A rose is a rose is a rose...
Here is what women say:

“Roses come in all colors to fit the myriad of preferences of those who love them. A rose is the image of love because it is such a thing of beauty. A rose is so lovely and captivating it’s almost magical – the touch of velvety petals; the lovely scent that conjures pictures of candlelight dinners and romantic moonlight walks. It has an aura of beauty that is sensual and heady and appeals to all of the senses in much the same way new love does. The bud so new and lovely, unfolds into a gorgeous mature flower analogous of a love relationship that grows richer and deeper in the fullness of time.” … Brook

“Because it unfolds as it blossoms; it has an awesome fragrance and no flower can equal it’s beauty.” … Jeannie

“A rose is beautiful and multi-layered. It invites you to hold it close to smell its fragrance. However, if one is not cautious of its thorns, there might be a prick of pain. Love, too, is beautiful and complex, beseeching you to come closer–carefully.” … Cheryl

“A rose is complex and simple at the same time. It is fragrant but has thorns. It takes maintenance and TOC to stay alive. It is beautiful. That’s why we equate a rose with love - complex but simple, sweet but with a few thorns, and takes TLC to stay alive.” … Kathy

“I have no idea why we equate roses with love????” … Jeannine

“Rose is the most expensive or one of the most expensive oils in the world. It is because it takes hundreds to make a small vial. Just a tidbit. Another tidbit. I sent my honey a bouquet this week of red roses; delivered to his work. He is still ecstatic over receiving them. They are a visual reminder that he is loved and thought of. He says when he looks at them he thinks of the giver, me, and is filled with the emotional reaction of being loved.

Why I equate a rose with love….Beauty, Appreciation, Sensual Scent, Freshness, Visually stimulating, Receiving, Softness.” … Bonnie (Bonnie is going on 4 years with her true love that she found shortly after beginning the And Find True Love system.
